Excerpts

And The Whole World Stops. Excerpts.

And The Whole World Stops  started as my thesis project at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco in 2013. Eventually, the thesis book has become a collection of my observations, photographs taken on-site during a nine-month-long research period, graphics inspired by my findings and, finally, still images from the video landscape series, And the Whole World Stops: Fog, When the Night Comes, Into the Evening. Although my thesis project has already been successfully completed, I have decided to continue with the research.  More visual work that is a response to my ongoing research is available for viewing under  Multimedia.

Plant sensor and mobile app

Thrive Plant Sensor & Mobile App. Fostering empathy for the environment.

Thrive is a plant sensor and a mobile app that fosters empathy between busy nature lovers and their plants.  This four-month-long team (4 designers including myself) project was part of my MFA Business of Design class at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco and involved both qualitative and quantitative research, ideation, prototyping, social media outreach, budgeting and a very successful fundraising campaign. The Thrive App gives a voice to household plants and reminds their busy owners to give them a proper care. It uses simple interactions to create a personality for plant lovers to motivate them to emotionally invest in their green friends' wellbeing.

Philosophers Poster Series

Philosophers Poster Series

Plato-Kant-Derrida

The series of screen printed posters is a response to the theories of three major philosophers: Plato, Immanuel Kant and Jacques Derrida. It is a visual exploration of the concept of Truth and the notion of Beauty in reference to Kant's Critique of Judgement.  It is an inquiry on the Image, Design and the Common(s) in the world where INFORMATION, at many levels, has become a new code word for what is largely an overload of fast-paced media images.
