Mornings In the Rodeo Lagoon

Created during artist residency at Headlands Center for the Arts in Marin Headlands, CA, 2015.

Mornings In the Rodeo Lagoon documents a life taking place in the Rodeo Lagoon in Marin Headlands. It depicts a hustle and bustle of a seemingly calm area. River otters, ducks, egrets and great blue herons start their busy day early in the morning.

During my 10 week long residency at Headlands Center for the Arts I was closely following the lives of the Rodeo Lagoon residents and have been particularly fascinated by the relationship between the egret and a great blue heron inhabiting the area. As I like to call it, their very peculiar love affair.
